Cruising Around the World

Cruises aren't just your run of the mill booze cruise anymore. Here are some fun and affordable (with a few splurges) cruises to take.In full disclosure, we have not always been the biggest fans of taking a cruise. We are more the type to wander and explore on our own. However, lately, we have been coming across more cruise ships and cruise experiences that are literally changing how we all look at taking a cruise.

Summer is right around the corner, so we are diving into the deep waters of the modern world of the cruise ship 2.0 and exploring how these modern wonders are creating a whole new way to experience travel. Cruising can be way more than a drunk fest aboard a giant ship where you might pick up some strange disease just from boarding the boat.

Not to mention, there are some good bargains to be had…but some cruises are also well worth the splurge.

On This Podcast Episode:

Join as we talk about cruising around the world. From French Polynesia to the Amazon River, to the jungles of Vietnam, and the South Pole, cruise ships are getting us closer and closer to experience other cultures, new scenery, and of course wild adventures; all the while, pampering us with the life of luxury.

We’ve now changed our minds about cruise ships and are looking forward to exploring many of these cruises that we’re featuring.

Rolling Into the Final Four in Scottsdale

Scottsdale has so much to offer no matter what your budget is. Want to go luxury? Stay in the summer when rates are a fraction of the price. Find out more tips on this podcast episode. We’re rolling into Scottsdale, Arizona for the NCAA Men’s Basketball Final Four this coming weekend. If you haven’t been to Scottsdale yet, it should be added to your travel wish list. A few weeks ago we had a weekend getaway at a conference in Scottsdale at the beautiful Omni Scottsdale Resort & Spa at Montelucia. We loved this hotel so much we wanted to share it and all that is Scottsdale with you guys on Travel Tuesday.

Luxury On Any Budget

I first started coming to Scottsdale about ten years ago when I discovered that while I couldn’t afford to stay at the Four Seasons Resort at Troon North in peak season, I could in the summer. In fact, their summer rates were below $200 – which if you know anything about luxury resorts – it’s a steal.

This is a great tip if you really want to stay somewhere luxurious but you don’t want to pay luxury prices. Check out when the off-season is and book a room then. You’ll often get a 25%+ discount on your room and skip all those crowds that come with high-season.

Since today is Valentine’s Day we wanted to take you to some place romantic, beautiful and maybe do a little wine tasting. This week we are exploring a great part of wine country in Northern California, one of our favorite towns, Healdsburg.

Healdsburg looks like one of those towns you see in a Hallmark movie, with all the charm and friendly locals.

These days, many places in the world are all about farm-to-table. What I discovered is that Healdsburg really lives out the farm-to-table, and even vine-to-glass, wherever you go in the area. Whether wine tasting at one of their organic wineries, or eat at one of their many locally sourced award-winning restaurants, you can taste and feel the difference.

Today we are going to talk with a couple of locals that are taking locally sourced to another level. Chef/Farmer Jack Herron of Eat it, Grow it, Make it, and Andrew Hock, Director of Operations and part owner of DaVero Farms & Winery.
